Jodi Bova Jodi Bova's current body of work, 'solder art,' conveys a narrative through the use of low-relief figurative sculptures and symbolizes the delicate relationship between man and artificial engineering. Her color palette is influenced by the tone and emotion of the message. The layer of silver acrylic wash, over most of the 'solder art' pieces, symbolizes the growing presence of our technological, scientific, and industrial advancements. Bova's 'solder art' represents the contradiction of linking human emotion with artificiality. As a self-taught artist most of her life, Bova has worked in a variety of media, and in 2005 received her B.A. in Self-Directed Studies, with a concentration in Fine Arts from Columbia College, Chicago. |
